Help Nurtures Hope Gift & Donation Policy

HNH Nonrefundable Donation Policy

Help Nurtures Hope, Inc. (HNH) appreciates your donation and support. Our budget and ongoing financial health rely on accounting for and accepting irrevocable, non-refundable donations from the public. Therefore, HNH considers all donations to be nonrefundable. Donors who have completed a transaction relinquish any and all claims on monetary, intellectual property, or physical property donations or gifts.

If you have made an error or see a discrepancy with your donation or in-kind gift, please contact Help Nurtures Hope, Inc. at helpnurtureshope@gmail.com within thirty (30) days of the original donation, and, depending on the circumstances, the HNH board will consider your request. The board will request proof of identity before issuing a refund, and all refunds are returned using the original method of payment. You are responsible for all tax considerations that may arise if your donation is refunded.

Gift Acceptance Policies

Help Nurtures Hope, Inc. encourages the solicitation and acceptance of in-kind gifts for purposes that will help HNH further fulfill its mission to establish and/or augment sustainable food systems in Cambodian villages and build lifetime humanitarians in youth ambassadors who complete the leadership training, 100 hours of local community service, and a two-week expedition to build upon the mission.

The Help Nurtures Hope Board of Directors will review all non-marketable gifts offered to HNH and determine if a proposed in-kind gift is acceptable to the mission and program of the nonprofit organization. A gift is not given completely to the organization until Help Nurtures Hope, Inc. has accepted it.

Moreover, they will annually review their policies and procedures to ensure the policies remain consistent with the mission and programs of HNH and all applicable laws.

Help Nurtures Hope, Inc. should inform prospective donors of the types of gifts that it will accept. In addition, accepted gifts are not generally subject to an exchange of consideration or other contractual duties between the organization and the donor, although objectives may be stated and funds may be restricted or allocated for a specific purpose, subject to the agreement and acceptance of the restrictions by the HNH board.

Fundraising Policies

All online or credit card monetary donations should be directed to the Help Nurtures Hope Square.site website donation and fundraising event portal or through the established Venmo portal with the address @help-nurtures-hope. Money paid via check, cash, or other physical form should be sent or collected by a designated member of the HNH Board or a service mission volunteer.

Help Nurtures Hope hosts fundraising events and campaigns to raise money for the service portion of each expedition or project. Service mission volunteers who desire to participate in the leadership preparatory program, local service, and service mission to Cambodia must raise their own money independent of HNH through peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising, social fundraising, competitive giving, team fundraising, crowdfunding, work, direct requests, etc. However, any monetary charitable donation paid to a service volunteer must be given to Help Nurtures Hope and not reserved toward personal fundraising. Once service mission volunteers pay their funds to Help Nurtures Hope, those funds are nonrefundable and allocated to the service mission.

Service mission volunteers may not promise charitable tax deductions unless the individual making the donation pays the money directly into the aforementioned methods of receiving money.

Restricted vs. Unrestricted Donations & Gifts Policies

Unrestricted gifts and gifts for specific programs and purposes may be accepted, provided they are consistent with HNHs mission, purposes, and priorities. HNH will not accept gifts that are inconsistent with its mission, purposes or priorities or are judged in its sole discretion too difficult to administer.

Cash may be accepted in any negotiable form. Checks must be made payable to Help Nurtures Hope or Help Nurtures Hope, Inc. and should be delivered to one of HNH’s administrative officers or directors.

HNH is not prepared to receive publically traded securities, closely held securities, annuities, etc. However, an individual may name Help Nurtures Hope, Inc. as a beneficiary and owner of any insurance policy or trust. HNH must be named as the irrevocable owner of a life insurance policy or a beneficiary of a trust before it can be recorded as a gift.

HNH may consider the donation of intellectual property rights, which include royalties, patents, copyrights, contract rights, or other similar interests.
